Summer Family Camp

Camp du Nord offers week-long camping programs for families. We offer age-specific activities in the mornings and family programs in the afternoons and evenings. Whether you're looking for water activities, hiking, or total relaxation, we have something for you!

Summer Family Camp begins in early June and ends the week before Labor Day. All sessions are from Saturday to Saturday. Families arrive late on Saturday or Sunday and depart a relaxing week later. We use a lottery system to make registering as equitable as possible.

There is a perception that du Nord is always “full." But we’re not! Check availability to see if one of our open spots will work for you and take note of the steep discounts offered in weeks 1, 2 and 12.

YMCA Camp du Nord consists of 28 unique cabins, 7 auto tent and rustic tent sites, 6 platform tent sites, and 1 platform cabin.

  • All cabins have kitchens, water and electricity, with the exception of the platform cabin.
  • Cabin sizes vary and sleep between 2 - 16 people.
  • Bedrooms provide a variety of beds - queens, doubles, bunks and singles.
  • Some cabins have bathrooms, others utilize outdoor biffies and the central shower house.
  • Summer tent and cabin descriptions, rates, and photos.

Leadership Development Program (LDP)

The Leadership Development Program at du Nord is intended to be a staff-in-training program as well as a leadership development program. It is an opportunity for LDP’s to observe the role of the Program Staff while helping them with a wide range of activities. We hope that today's LDP will be tomorrow's program staff.

LDP is designed for teens 15–18 years of age who are willing to serve the needs of the camp and family campers. Time commitment is two weeks.

Check out Forms & Publications for an application.  Applications are due in January of each year.

Resource Family Volunteers

The Resource Family volunteer program is an opportunity for families to join the du Nord community for a week by providing service to the campers at du Nord. The Resource Family is incredibly important to the successful operation of summer programs at du Nord.

We require each family to complete an application form to participate in the Resource Family program. Please return the application to the YMCA Camp du Nord office 532 County Road F, Hudson, WI 54016 as soon as possible. If you would like a paper copy of the application and job description please call 651-645-6605. We accept applications until positions are full.

There are so many vacation opportunities available today, but du Nord not only offers all the fun, relaxation and recreation, but offers a very unique experience - one that has so much more real depth and growth - that campers lives are actually changed and enriched.
