About Camp Menogyn

Mission

  • Camp Menogyn's mission is to provide transformational experiences in a wilderness setting, emphasizing quality, personal growth and relationships.

Programs by Season

  • During the summer, campers stay at Menogyn’s base camp for two nights before heading out for a wilderness canoe or backpack trip. At the end of their trip, campers return to Menogyn for a grand welcome, sauna, banquet and closing campfire before leaving for home the next day. In the winter, participants stay at our base for day excursions or one night overnights into the BWCA.

Summer

  • Menogyn offers wilderness canoe, backpacking and rock climbing trips for teens – from Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area to Alaska.
  • Small, single-gender groups of 3 to 6 campers with 1 or 2 trail counselors ensure special connections that result in mutual respect and support as they face a variety of challenges during their adventures.
  • Each camper is important to us. Trips are structured so that campers can enjoy themselves and participate regardless of previous experience with outdoor and wilderness activities. Campers can expect to help in activities as varied as planning the trail route or preparing the food menu.

Fall | Winter | Spring

  • We offer group retreats, family retreats, an MEA weekend camp, Winter Camp December 27-30th, and family camps over the new year holiday, Presidents Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.
  • Our winter playground activities include dog sledding, snow shoeing and cross-country skiing.
  • Trips and weekends for families and adults are available- Menogyn is the perfect place for your next retreat or group get-away.
  • Menogyn provides year-round safe, fun and enriching wilderness adventures in an environment that fosters caring, honesty, responsibility and respect.
  • We specialize in wilderness activities like canoeing, backpacking, rock climbing, dog sledding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Facilities

  • Menogyn facilities include several camper and staff cabins, a wonderful dining hall with great food, and a world-class sauna.
  • There are no roads to Menogyn – you have to cross the lake to get to camp! We think crossing the lake is a perfect reminder to breathe in the fresh air and stay present with nature.
