Scholarship Support
- We collaborate with several non-profit agencies to match their funding to send kids to camp.
- We work with foster parents to help send these children to camp.
- Parents experiencing temporary financial distress due to extenuating circumstances are given financial assistance.
Y Partners is the foundation of Camp St. Croix's financial aid program.
We award Scholarships to qualifying individuals, groups and schools within our available resources. Camp St. Croix staff work with school guidance counselors to help identify underprivileged children who would otherwise never get the opportunity to come to camp. Many of our camper participants have never slept away from home, been on a family vacation, paddled a canoe, or ridden a horse. At Camp St. Croix they get to experience totally new things in a safe, nurturing, and respectful place.
- 455 summer campers received $204,252 in financial assistance (this includes 114 King Leadership program participants)
- 320 children from military families received $162,500 in financial assistance
- 748 school-age children received financial assistance of $18,482 for environmental education
- 120 conference group attendees received $3,293 in assistance
- Total of 1,643 people obtained financial assistance in order to come to YMCA Camp St. Croix for a total of $388,527*
*This figure includes the $162,200 provided by the National Military Family Association to scholarship 240 military children to Operation Purple Camp the week of July 4th.
Staff Development
Helping staff expand their skills as youth leaders is crucial to St. Croix's ongoing success:
- 98 summer resident camp staff participated in a nine-day training, which included CPR, first aid, and other technical skills at a cost of $35,280.
- 62 DayCroix Day Camp staff participated in a five-day training at a cost of $4,340.
- 35 International Staff participated in a summer resident program at a cost of $70,000 in related fees.
- 20 International Staff received lifeguard training at a cost of $2,000.
Equipment & Repairs
Your gift helped us purchase:
- 5 New DayCroix Tents: $665
- Overnight Camp Trail Supplies: $1,300
- Purchase of a New 15ft Precision Sailboat for Sailing Camps: $7,500
- Purchase of an SUV for trail camps and year-round programming: $13,000
- Replacement of Poles and Equipment at the High Teams Ropes Course: $10,325
- Development of a New Archery Range: $1,200

- $2,500 ($210/month) Explorer Sponsor 5 under privileged children to experience and enjoy a week-long overnight camping experience.
- $1,500 ($125/month) Wrangler Provide entire cost for 1 horse in our horse back riding program; includes lease food, vet, and staffing costs.
- $1,000 ($84/month) Voyageur Purchase a new canoe for our wilderness tripping program.

- $250 ($20/month) Pioneers Provide financial assistance for 4 campers at WinterCroix.
