At the Y, helping kids, families and communities to learn, grow and thrive requires strong, cause-driven leadership. Our goal is to develop our team members and to promote from within the organization whenever possible.
Learning opportunities at the Y include:
- New Employee Orientation
- Customer Service Training
- New Supervisor Training Series
- Leadership and Communication Courses
- Program Specific Training
In addition, high performing team members are nominated to participate in one of our two development programs, Star Performers Enrichment or Emerging Leaders.
We partner with the YMCA of the USA (YUSA) to deliver program training in the areas of Fitness, Aquatics, Member Sales and Service, Child Care and Youth Development. Opportunities to obtain Leadership Certifications through YUSA are also available.
Each year, team members work with their managers to develop/update a competency development plan to ensure ongoing learning and to prepare for the next Y opportunity. We are committed to a culture of learning and growth.
