Minneapolis Downtown YMCA
The Minneapolis Downtown YMCA provides care for all public and private elementary schools in the surrounding metro area and FAIR School Downtown. Bus transportation to the Downtown Y is available for children attending surrounding schools. Children attending FAIR School Downtown are escorted through the skyway system to the Y. Safety is our top priority and your child will be assisted on and off the bus by a designated Y staff person.

School Release Days are paid in full at time of registration online.
Program Hours:
Monday – Friday
Before School Care: 6:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
After School Care: 1:45 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
School Release Days & Holiday Care: 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Y School Age Care will be closed on the following days: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day following, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Memorial Day.
Program Costs:
A “session” is defined as either before school or after school. The 3-session minimum can be reached by combining a.m. and/or p.m. sessions.
Before School Sessions
3 sessions: $28.50
4 sessions: $38.00
5 sessions: $47.50
After School Sessions
3 sessions: $42.75
4 sessions: $57.00
5 sessions: $71.25
Transportation:
To arrange transportation to or from the Downtown YMCA School Age Care Program, call the school transportation coordinator. Many schools have established bus stops at the Downtown YMCA. Inform the Transportation Coordinator that your child(ren) are to be picked up or dropped off at the location listed. When arranging transportation, gather the following information:
- Bus number or letter
- Pick-up and Drop-off times
- School phone number
FAIR students: Children will be escorted from the Y and dropped off before school and picked up and escorted to the Y after school by Y School Age Care staff.
