24 Seven

The YMCA 24 Seven program works with referred youth 16 and older who are exiting their placement from Hennepin County programs and who are in need of independent housing. The YMCA staff works collaboratively with a Hennepin County Social Worker or Probation Officer to assist youth in completing the 24 Seven program goals.

The YMCA 24 Seven staff works directly with property management companies, the Hennepin County Home School, After Today and other group homes to assist youth in locating and securing their own housing. YMCA staff also work closely with GED programs, school staff and post-secondary facilities to partner and assist youth with their education requirements. Genesis II for Families provides youth assessment, case management and a structured Independent Living Skills programs. Youth receive employment training and resources individually and through other Hennepin County employment agencies. The YMCA staff refers youth to supportive community resources to help them successfully reside independently and help educate youth where to get assistance if needed.

You made a HUGE impact on my life. You will probably never be able to understand just how big it really is but did what a lot failed at without a “MD” or PhD” behind your name.  You were simply there, good, bad, indifferent.  You held me accountable yet in a very graceful way.  You should be proud of what you do, you not only impacted me then but I stilluse what you taught me now and it helps me be a better person and mom!  Thank you so much!
