The YMCA Return to Success Program works with youth 12 to 21 years of age that have become involved in the juvenile justice system and are in placement or placed at Hennepin County Home School.
The YMCA Community Specialists partner with Hennepin County Probation Officers and work to develop relationships with youth and assist them in planning and preparing for their release. The YMCA Community Specialist works with employment agencies to provide youth with employment training, resources and placement, educators to help youth acquire their GED, high school diploma or post-secondary education. The YMCA staff also assists youth in transitioning to the community upon their release from placement or County Home School and provides follow-up services which might include referrals to local support groups and resources for positive recreational and social activities.
