YMCA Launches Diabetes Prevention Program

YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)

The YMCA is committed to helping prevent chronic disease by giving individuals of all ages tools for healthy living.

The program uses a group-based lifestyle intervention designed especially for people at high-risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This intervention has been proven to cut people’s chances of developing the disease by more than half.
 
The YMCA is partnering with the UnitedHealth Group and will be providing DPP classes starting June 1.  The program will be delivered by YMCA Lifestyle Coaches.  Class details and locations are still pending.
