BodyStep™ Express an abbreviated 45-minute version of BodyStep. It’s a simple, athletic, energizing workout uses a height-adjustable step platform. You’ll work out to uplifting music on 12-tracks, pre-choreographed. Each of the 12 music tracks focuses on a specific exercise to give you a full body workout. BodyStep conditions muscles, shapes and tones your upper and lower body, and increases cardiovascular fitness and coordination. With each class you attend you’ll feel more at ease and eventually totally alive.
A Typical Class
- Track 1, The Warm-up – Gets your body ready with a series of simple aerobic moves.
- Track 2, Step Warm-up – This is like ‘Step School’. You’ll learn how to step correctly, as you continue to warm your body.
- Track 3, Step Orientation – The intensity gradually lifts as you increase your range of movement and add light propulsions.
- Track 4, Step Athletic – The first peak. You’ll feel a lift in your energy and your heart rate, as you break a sweat and climb higher with more athletic stepping exercises to improve cardio fitness.
- Track 5, Mixed Strength – We lower the step a level, ease back on the cardio and increase demands on the legs and Glutes for lower body strength and toning.
- Track 6, The Power Peak – Now you’ll power up and hit the second peak. This step uses intense stepping exercises and dynamic lateral movement to improve cardio and endurance fitness.
- Track 7, Step Recovery – Catch your breath with slower and more controlled stepping exercises that work on balance and stability. We’ll focus on lower body toning and sculpting.
- Track 8, Party Step – Get your party groove on, smile and have fun. Anything goes! Your instructor changes it up with different themes and movement styles to give you a party on a step.
- Track 9, Speed Step – A signature BODYSTEP™ track. You’ll lower the step height, and move your feet faster for speed and agility training.
- Track 10, The Peak – You’ve reached the third and final cardio peak where you can really push it by raising the height of your step. This track is a physically challenging combination of dynamic propulsive exercises and strong lower moves. Give it all you’ve got and reap the rewards, you’re near the end!
- Track 11, Recovery/Pushups/Abdominals – Catch your breath. We move to the floor for conditioning work for the upper body and abdominals.
- Track 12, Cool down/Stretch – Stretch your muscles as you cool down. Your full body workout is complete.

Tips + Preparation
New to class? Arrive a little early so our instructor can give you some pointers.
- Start on a low step height
- Focus on your feet; do the class without using your arms
- Lost in a move? Continue stepping with a move that you feel comfortable with until you feel up to the challenge
- Don’t give up. It usually takes a few BODYSTEP™ classes before you start to feel comfortable on the stepEquipment Needed
