Parent and Child

  • Parents accompany children at all times during these classes
  • One parent per child
  • Ages 6 -36 months

Sea Turtle—Typically for ages 6-18 months; must be at least 6 months old on first day of class and be able to control head movement. In this water adjustment program, certified instructors guide parents in teaching their children fundamental safety and aquatic skills.

 

Sea Lion—Typically for ages 12-30 months; must be comfortable in the water and able to walk 3 steps independently. In this advanced water adjustment program, a certified instructor will guide parents in teaching body position, blowing bubbles, floating and fundamental safety and aquatic skills.

 

Seahorse—Typically for ages 18 months-3 years; must be able to jump on cue on land. This class teaches water safety, paddle strokes, kicking skills, blowing bubbles with face in the water, and floating. It is a transition to the preschool swim program.

I loved that the Instructor was in the water with the kids not just watching from the side.  He was very involved, positive and engaged.
