Wellness Programs

Improve your health through targeted programs and counseling on nutrition, diabetes prevention, weight loss and overall wellness for all ages.  We will be adding more resources to this section shortly - including Age 55+, and Weight Loss Programs - so stay tuned.

Diabetes Prevention Program

The YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program is specifically for people who have "pre-diabetes" or are at risk for acquiring Type 2 diabetes. It is group-based and delivered over 16, one-hour core sessions facilitated by a trained Lifestyle Coach. We’ll cover nutrition, physical activity and behavior modification. Monthly maintenance meetings follow the core sessions.

I feel better physically and about myself than I have for a very, very long time. I had my annual checkup with my doctor of more than 10 years earlier this week and she was very happy and maybe a little bit proud of me. I look forward to being able to do some things I haven't done for a long time as I get in better shape.
