About the University YMCA

Lead more. Live more. Lifelong learning at the University YMCA.

Since 1887, the University YMCA has served the University of Minnesota and the Twin Cities community. As an official student organization of the University of Minnesota, the University Y seeks to develop ethical leadership skills of young adults through community involvement and reflective learning. Programs focus on building community, social awareness and progressive leadership roles.

Mission Statement

The University YMCA at the University of Minnesota seeks to develop the ethical leadership capacities of students in a context of social issues.  We do this by combining cross-cultural and community-based experiences with reflective learning. We work through collaborative processes with the University and the wider community to make these opportunities available.
