Summer Power Kindergarten #

Learning through fun and play to help prepare children for school.

Entering, or completed Kindergarten in fall 2010

June 14 – September 3
Monday – Friday

Program Hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Drop-off: 6:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.
Pick-up: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Summer Power Kindergarten is a full-day, fun-filled program where children make new friends and learn new things through play in preparation for school in the fall. They’ll explore their world in small groups through age- and development-appropriate activities. Special themes guide weekly features and field trips as kids explore zoos, museums and parks. Trained YMCA staff provides responsible and secure supervision at all times.

Choose from 3-. 4- or 5-day options:
$170 – 5 days per week
$142 – 4 days per week
$114 – 3 days per week

Registration Fee – $50 per child, one-time fee, non-refundable. Weekly fee includes all field trip admissions, open swimming, program t-shirt and program supplies.

Fascinating adventures in a safe, quality childcare program.

For youth entering grades 1 – 5 in fall 2010

Customize your child’s summer to fit the needs of your family. Enroll your child for the whole summer, choose a few weeks, or mix it up even more with full and partial weeks.
Choose from 3-, 4- or 5-day options.
$165 – 5 days per week
$138 – 4 days per week
$111 – 3 days per week

Registration Fee – $50 per child, one-time fee, non-refundable. Weekly fee includes all field trip admissions, open swimming, program t-shirt and program supplies.
Kids will be grouped by age.

Summer Power is a super-lively, full-day enrichment program focused on quality, small group, age-appropriate activities. Kids stay motivated, entertained and are encouraged to make choices and exercise independent thinking. Each week is packed with an amazing variety of activities including multiple field trips weekly to exciting places. Not only are the kids entertained and engaged, they’re learning new things and making new friends.
No two weeks are alike! Some of the popular things your kids will enjoy every week are:

  • Arts & Humanities – creative projects and learning through the arts
  • Science Projects – fun and learning through hands-on exploration
  • Health & Fitness – staying fit, healthy and strong while having a blast
  • Large-group Games – playing Capture The Flag, Kickball, Scavenger Hunts and other popular kids’ games and sports.
  • Values-strengthening Activities – projects, skits and more to help the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility come to life
  • Service Projects – having fun while helping others
  • Water Activities – trips to pools, water parks and other wet and wild fun
  • Wonderful Spaces – multiple outdoor and indoor areas enhance summer activities

Intriguing weekly themes guide engaging activities and give kids topics to look forward to. Themes are outlined on page 3. Trained YMCA staff provides supervision, care and guidance for participants in this unrivaled summer program. It’s honest-to-goodness fun!

Summer Power Specialty #

Summer Power Specialty programs are designed to focus on a favorite hobby or explore new ones! Fees include field trip admissions, swimming, program t-shirt and program supplies.

A one-time non-refundable deposit of $50 per child is required at the time of registration. The deposit is applied to the session fee.

For youth entering grades 2 – 5

Program Hours: 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Splash

July 26 – 30 and August 16 – 20
5 days per week: $185

If you love water, and lots of it, Splash is the program for you! Each day features a new adventure in water fun, including indoor and outdoor water games, water relays, and activities. Visit local water park attractions – perfect for cooling off during warm summer days.

Fur-Fangs-Feathers

August 2 – 6
5 days per week: $185

Love animals of all kinds? You will love this hands-on animal exploration program! Compare and contrast the characteristics of many common and not-so-common animals. Visits to the local zoos are some of the highlights of the week. See the wonderful ways that animals enrich our lives and how to care for them.

Sports Specialty

June 14 – 18 Baseball
July 12 – 16 Basketball
5 days per week: $185

Specialty Sports is a fun, non competitive program designed to build teamwork, leadership skills and self-esteem. Participants develop sportsmanship through recreational play and enjoy sports related field trips. Youth practice specific skills, drills and put it all together for a series of games. Whether learning how to play a new sport or refining old skills, you'll improve your game at the YMCA.

Uproar

High-spirited adventures result in growth experiences for youth.

For preteens and teens entering grades 6 – 8 in fall, 2010

Summer Uproar is a full-day, experience-based enrichment program that encourages older kids to explore their ever-expanding world, increase understanding, build independence and have a boatload of fun. Uproar brings a multitude of character development experiences to kids through community involvement, leadership activities, team building exercises, goal setting, networking and service learning projects. Days are filled with super field trips, outings to amusement and water parks, and in fun group activities that exercise the body, challenge the mind and nurture the spirit of our youth.
