Our programs for kids and teens promote wellness grounded in the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and equity.

Sports

Kids learn teamwork and build skills through YMCA youth sports.

Full-day Child Care

Eight metro Early Childhood Learning Centers provide full-day, year-round child care options for children ages six weeks to five years.

Part-day Preschool

Three area Preschools prepare kids two to five years old for school with part-day readiness programs during the school year

School Age Care

Our partnerships with local school districts offer before- and after-school care and school-release day options for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade at dozens of locations across the Twin Cities.

Summer Programs

For the summer, children in preschool through eighth grade can enjoy a variety of enrichment programs.

Day Camp Spring Lake

Traditional day camp held at Dakota County Spring Lake Park Reserve in Rosemount. Free busing available from Cottage Grove, Eagan, Hastings, Inver Grove Heights, Newport, Prescott (WI), Rosemount, St. Paul, St. Paul Park and West St. Paul.

Arts and humanities classes

Encourage expression in creativity with enrichment classes for kids. These classes are only offered during select times throughout the year. Contact Member Services at 651-456-9622 for more info.

Safe Sitter Classes

Safe Sitter®, an up-to-date and well-rounded youth development program with a medical basis, teaches youth between the ages of 11 and 14 everything they need to know to keep themselves and the children in their care safe. The nationally-recognized, pediatrician-developed program includes child care techniques, basic first aid, rescue techniques (like choking infant and child rescue), babysitting as a business, and online and cellphone safety.

Homeschool P.E.

YMCA Homeschool Physical Education is designed to teach the importance of healthy living through sports and aquatics activities. From September to May, the program follows comprehensive curriculum that includes instruction in sports, gym games, fitness skills, and pool activities. YMCA Homeschool PE is a great place to meet new friends, create long lasting relationships and learn about the importance of healthy living.

Y Adventure Lab Adventure Racing

Unique seasonal fitness challenges, motivation programs and adventure races that keep kids physically active all year long.
