I am not an ‘in your face kind of person’, I like to see things get done but quietly. This goes for fitness/health as well as life activities. I became a trainer kind of by accident, I went back to school to learn how to help kids become more fit and found myself becoming a trainer for all ages. Working with the young to help them set healthy lifestyles from the beginning, the elderly to help keep them healthy and independent well into their 90’s and every age group in between inspires me. Hiring me as a trainer you can expect a program geared to you, your hopes and goals. Training at the Y offers lots of options to put into your program; extra classes, water, and different modalities…the more variety in your program the better the chances of you reaching your goals and beyond.

“Bottom line, I am a believer in using a personal trainer on a regular basis, having done so for years. A competent trainer, like Naomi, will customize training on a continuing basis to meet your goals, be it sport training, dealing with physical issues, strength training, cardiovascular fitness, rehabilitation post injury or surgery, will help you set and adjust your goals over time, will assure your form is proper to avoid injuries, and help make working out more fun. I am completely convinced the cost is an excellent investment in oneself.”

Danny King

Education | Certifications | Specialties:

NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified Personal Trainer, NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Performance Enhancement Specialist, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, Fat Loss, Metabolic Training, Small Group Training, Muscle Gain

I developed a passion for fitness while still in high school. As one of the least athletic people you are likely to meet, working out started out as a way to keep in shape and impress girls but quickly became a much larger portion of my life. When I am not in the gym helping busy mom’s get in the best shape of their life, I am in the gym focusing on my own training. My training philosophy is results-based. Working with me is going to be extremely hard and even more rewarding.

“Working with Danny King is the best thing I have ever done for my health! I tried to achieve my personal fitness goals on my own with only minor results. I looked into a personal trainer at the Hudson YMCA and that’s where I found Danny King. I thought to myself, what do I have to lose? Since beginning to train with Danny I have not only increased my core strength and flexibility but as well increased my cardio workouts and was able to run several road races last year with personal best results! Danny is incredibly knowledgeable about health and fitness and is a great motivator. I recommend working with him if you are ready to achieve your personal fitness goals!”

Kristine Marlette

Education | Certifications | Specialties:

B.A. Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse- Concentration in Strength and Conditioning, NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified Personal Trainer, weight loss, TRX Suspension Training, Kettlebell Training, Pilates Reformer, Pilates MVe Chair, Water Personal Training

I first found interest in doing personal training when I found out firsthand how difficult it can be mentally and physically to achieve health and fitness goals and to do it on your own. As your trainer, I will take your health and wellness personally, and work alongside of you to help achieve all your fitness goals. With my personal training experience and education, I have an understanding of individual needs and am able to push people to get them the results which they strive for. I have worked with people that range from a 12 year old that wants to lose weight to the 80 year old that wants to work on improving their balance. My goal as a trainer is to help you along the way to your goals and to provide positive support, encouragement and the right workouts to get you to your goals.

“Kristine is a great personal trainer! She has been helping me for years and I would never have worked out regularly for that long if it was not for Kristine. Kristine is pleasure to work with because she is easy to talk to, is very personable, and she truly cares. Kristine is very knowable with the details of personal training and is always learning more by taking classes and using the internet. She also adjusts her training to match the individual needs and goals of each person. I would highly recommend Kristine as a personal trainer.”

Education | Certifications | Specialties:

B.S. Music Therapy University of Minnesota Minneapolis, ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified Personal Trainer, NETA (National Exercise Trainers Association) Pilates Reformer Instructor, ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified Group Fitness Instructor, American Red Cross Instructor, TRX Suspension Training, Kettlebell Training, Active Older Adults, New Leaf® Metabolic Testing, Heart Rate training, Pilates Reformer

My passion for a health and fitness began over 25 years ago when I started taking aerobic dance classes at a local fitness studio. Pleased with the results of weight loss and a strong body I began my fitness career by becoming an aerobic instructor myself! This has led to a long career in fitness management, Personal Training and Pilates Reformer Training. My passion for health and fitness has also empowered me to become an avid road cyclist and triathlete. As a Personal Trainer, I bring this passion to my clients and empower them to take themselves to the next level on their health and fitness journey. My clients range from individuals who are in post-recovery from injury to athletes that want to improve their performance. Personal Training sessions with me involve a variety of methods including circuit training, interval training, balance, core stabilization and sport’s specific training. Since accountability is important to my clients, I give them homework to do when they are not training with me.

“Personal training is about 3 things; Of course there is the focus on a specific set of goals (health, fitness, weight management) but it is also about individual attention and the one-on-one time that busy people need; And with all of that having someone other than yourself, pushing you to what you can really do to achieve those goals. Cathy Q is the embodiment of this style of training. When I am with her, I get 110% of her time. She comes prepared with a plan following my long term goals, but she takes the time (personal!) to know about my week, how I am doing and what my daily goals are. It is great because she will adjust on the fly but ALWAYS ensures a good work out. Core one day, cardio another, and a combination on the 3rd day. Cathy is my motivation to get up at 4:45 am and show up at the Y at 5:30 am. If she can do it, then I must. She lives fitness and leads by that positive example to help us be fitter, healthier and long term happier. Training with Cathy is NEVER dull and I always feel the better for doing it. Thanks Cathy!”
