Take an active role in strengthening our community by volunteering at the Y.  Your time and talent go a long way with us and helps to create a safer, more viable community that's a good place to live and work.

Community Board of Directors

  • Please contact our Executive Director to learn about board and committee opportunities.  (Year-Round)

Community

  • Healthy Kids Day - Celebrate with children tots to teens, for activities that educate and motivate kids to live healthy lifestyles. (April)
  • Blue Heron Day - Join us for this fun community wide event.  Assist with activities at the Y or the morning parade. (August)
  • Harvest Party - Help with our October dress-up celebration that includes games, treats and lots of fun. (October)
  • Cookies with Santa - Assist with activities, stories and games. (December)
  • Adopt a Highway - Help keep the 2-mile area from the 35E/35W Junction to Hwy 97 clean from debris. (Spring & Fall)

Events and Fundraising 

  • Tri for the Y - Assist with our annual indoor triathlon. (January) 
  • General Fundraising - Help us raise funds for our Y Partners Scholarship fund. (Year-round)
  • Call Nights - Help organize, write thank you notes or make calls on our scheduled Y Partner call nights. (January & February)
  • 5K Run - Join our committee, sponsor the event or help on the day of the run. (September)
  • Giving Thanks Wine Event - Help the committee plan and secure sponsorship/vendors or assist with the set-up and/or clean-up the day of the event.  (November)

Aquatics

  • Swim Instructor Aide - Assist instructors and help supervise swimmers during Swim Academy classes. (Year-round)

Kids Stuff 

  • Kids Stuff Assistant - Work with children in Kids Stuff, read stories and/or assist with projects/crafts. (Year-round)
  • Parents Night Out - Assist with activities, games and meal service for kids while parents enjoy a night out. (Year-round)

Maintenance and Housekeeping

  • Special Projects – Assist with painting, repairs and maintenance, etc. (Year-round)
  • Yard Work and Gardening – Help with our flower beds, shrubs and bushes. (Spring & Summer)

Member Services

  • Member Greeter - Greet and welcome members. (Year-round)
  • Administrative work and Office support - File, prepare mailings, prepare marketing packets.  (Year-round)

Youth, Teen and Family Programs

  • Youth Instructor Assistant - Assist class instructors with variety of sports and arts classes. (Year-round)

Teen Opportunities

  • Birthday Party Assistant - Assist with planning, implementing and supervising birthday parties on Saturdays and Sundays. (Year-round)
  • Teen & Youth Night Chaperone – Help oversee Teen & Youth Nights. (Year-round)
  • Tutor - Assist elementary students with homework, during designated evenings. (Year-round)
  • Youth in Government Advisors – Attend local meetings, get to know students, participate at state conference events (2 -3 days each) or assist in delivering programs and ensuring student safety.  (January & March)
