I believe that our bodies are vessels for both our minds and spirits. By having a higher level of fitness we make not only physical gains, but have a direct impact on the way we think, feel and act. This exercise of the body, mind and spirit are the key pieces to wellness. I also believe in mixing up workouts and always trying to keep things new and fresh. There is nothing more tedious and boring than doing the same workout routine day after day. I like to incorporate challenges of strength, stability, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning and flexibility into all workouts. With the YMCA I have the opportunity to not only work with people who may be physically gifted but those individuals who TRULY need help. I am in a position now where I can have a direct impact on people’s ability to live a happy and healthy life. I take great pride in that. I also came to the YMCA because I hold the same core values as the Y close to my heart. Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility. It is refreshing to be in an environment where those values are upheld.

“Jesse introduced me to forms of exercise I didn’t think I could do, nor would I have ever tried if I hadn’t worked with a trainer. He varied the training sessions so I get a chance to try many different types of exercise, and he focuses on my current goal- weight loss, running etc. I now do activities I never thought I could do. My latest success was to run a 5k- I would never have considered doing this if he hadn’t had me run during one of our training sessions or been there to encourage, guide and push me to succeed. In 9 weeks I went from not being able to run for ½ a minute to running a 5k in about 36 minutes. Since starting with Jesse last November I have now lost more than 20lbs (for a total of 60), run a 5k, and gained muscle strength that has made it easier to complete my daily tasks and participate in my family’s activities.”

My Personal Trainer's coaching and encouragement have given me the confidence that I can gain strength and continue to enjoy active days.
