As a fitness specialist, my guiding principle is that fitness done right is sustainably life changing. It’s not exclusively an outer-self event. Visible outcomes start with inner-self convictions and a desire to create a new self. Like anything worthwhile pursuing in life, transformation won’t happen overnight as much as we’d like that to happen. The big advantage fitness has is that we can experience as well as see the transformation happen. Once we make the commitment and start the process, even small steps can inspire us to startling achievements. Fitness is self-reinforcing and keeps us going.
Over the years, my clients continually inspire themselves and me with their remarkable transformations. One of those clients is Dorothy. A former educator, Dorothy was diagnosed as pre-diabetic and morbidly obese. Because of a hip-replacement, she walked with a cane and was struggling with low self-confidence and very limited mobility. She had elevated blood pressure and cholesterol. Dorothy launched a nutrition and exercise regimen that showed results within 60 days of once-a-week, 60 minute training sessions. Now, 13 months later, Dorothy’s lost 85 pounds, reduced her meds 70%, walks unaided and does cardio workouts that would challenge people half her 70+ years. Dorothy says if she can do this, then anybody can. How about you? You’ve got the power. Open the door to the first day of the rest of your life, the one you want to live.

I believe in a total, complete healthy lifestyle - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. When a person is in great physical shape, they feel terrific, and more effectively get the most out of their life. When a person has overall health, they feel more confident, have more energy, do more things, they accomplish and achieve more.
