This class combines ballet and tap and teaches young dancers the basics as they learn body placement and beginning technique. Classes include:
Stretching: Proper warm-up techniques.
Tap: Basic positions (stationary and progression) including flap, shuffle, heel steps, toe steps, digs, marches, buffalos, Maxie Fords, shuffle step, ball change and shuffle hop step.
Ballet: Basic stationary positions including 1st through 4th position, body posture/technique, tendu, battements, relevés, plié, port de bras, pas de bourrée, piqué and preparations for pirouette. Progressions spotting including battement, chassé, bourrée, chaîné, piqué, pirouette and pivots.
Routine: Dancers learn a routine and perform for families at the end of class.
