State Board

Minnesota YMCA Youth in Government is served by a State Board, comprised of up to 21 community leaders and program alumni.  The Youth in Government State Board works under the direction of the General Board of Directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis and has several areas of focus, including:

  • Articulating the vision for Youth in Government
  • Building strong relationships and acting as an ambassador for the YMCA
  • Cultivating and securing resources to support service delivery
  • Determining community needs
  • Exemplifying excellence in leadership, with emphasis on the YMCA mission
  • Focusing on planning, evaluation and quality
